Every year we observe World Rabies Day on 28th September all over the world, this year the theme is “Vaccinate to Eliminate”. A small awareness program and Health check-up was organized in Mata Jijabai Govt. Girls P.G. College, under the guidance of Prof. Sheetal Saxena (Officiating Principal), Prof.Shweta Pattnaik (HOD Med. Surgical dept.), Asso. Prof. Mrs. Ancy Varkey and Mr. Nischal Pathak, Asst. Lecturer in association with Prof. Rakhi Phandse, Child Health Nursing dept. to spread awareness among college girls. Prof.Bela from GDC College co-ordinated the program. Approximately 200 girls of Govt College got benefited with this awareness programme. The programme was organized by M. Sc (N) previous year and B. Sc nursing 2nd year students. The programme started with an introductory message on rabies day and was continued by providing Health education to the girls through the skit prepared by B. Sc 2nd year nursing student. Thereafter, Height, Weight, BMI, and Hemoglobin of the girls was checked. Approximately 200 girls were benefited with the health checkup. The programme concluded well with a message that it is our prime responsibility to aware each and every citizen about Rabies and in turn reduce the incidence rate.
